chachi
It was December 14, 1998 during 7th period lunch when former Hyperactive Ensemble guitarist/trombonist Andy Yaros approached former Hyperactive Ensemble drummer Rob Crane asking him to form an alliance called "Chachi." Their sound developed into well- rafted, melodious acoustic pop after a few practices. Their debut was scheduled for the Dec.19 Battle of the Bands, but do to last minute changes, Chachi was banned from the show. So they decided to put on a "Jesse McCready is a Fairy" show in Yaros' basement, because McCready was the fairy who wouldn't let them play in the show. This was the birth of Chachi. They have not released anything on the OOBS label thus far, but Andy and Rob have contributed some sort of musical performance to almost every backyard/basement show in recent years.
